CONCEPT: BROKEN BUT GOLDEN
BROKEN BUT GOLDEN:
THIS CONCEPT WAS ELABORATED WITH THE INTENTION OF WORKING WITH MULTIPLE AND INTERSECTING DECONSTRUCTED LAYERS AND DRAPERY, WHILE STILL  MAINTAINING THE IDEA OF MINIMALISM AND SOPHISTICATION.

DURING THE DESIGN PROCESS, I FOUND THAT THE CONCEPT OF ONLY USING LAYERS AND MINIMALISM DIDN'T FEEL INNOVATIVE OR INTERESTING ENOUGH. AS I RESEARCHED MORE ABOUT MY "INSPIRATIONAL DESIGNER", HIS philosophy AND CULTURE, I DECIDED TO INCORPORATE A JAPANESE ART FORM CALLED "KINTSUGI" TO MY DESIGNS.

KINTSUGI, ALSO KNOW AS "GOLDEN JOINERY", is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. VERY MUCH like people, everyone has been through LIFE EXPERIENCES and ACQUIRED PHYSICAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL SCARS from them, but IT HAS MADE THEM WHO THEY ARE, AND ARE still incredible and beautiful people IN THEIR OWN WAY.
